Terms of Use # Terms of Use Last updated: 15 June 2026 These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your access to and use of **firstrungnow.co.uk**(the "Site"), including all guides, calculators, forms and the broker introduction service operated by **First Rung Now** ("we", "us", "our"). By using the Site you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site. ## 1\. About us First Rung Now is a UK-based information publisher and introducer for FCA-regulated mortgage brokers. Regulatory status & nature of service First Rung Now is **not authorised by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA)** and does not provide regulated mortgage advice, financial advice, debt counselling, or any service that requires FCA permission. Our role is to: - publish educational content about UK mortgages, remortgages, buy-to-let and specialist lending; - provide non-advised calculators for guidance only; - introduce you, where you ask us to, to an FCA-regulated mortgage broker who will provide any regulated advice. Any decision to apply for, or proceed with, a mortgage product is a matter between you, your chosen broker and the lender. **Your home may be repossessed if you do not keep up repayments on your mortgage.** ## 3\. Educational content (not advice) Guides, articles, FAQs and calculator outputs on the Site are general information based on UK mortgage practice at the time of writing. They are **not** personal recommendations, regulated advice or a guarantee of any outcome. Lender criteria, tax rules and product availability change frequently. You must confirm specifics with a qualified, FCA-regulated adviser before acting. ## 4\. Calculators The calculators provide indicative figures only, using simplified market-standard formulas (for example: repayment amortisation, typical income multiples, headline SDLT bands, ICR stress tests). They do not reflect a specific lender's underwriting, your full credit profile, or current product rates. Always treat the output as an estimate. ## 5\. Broker matching When you submit a contact form or calculator with the broker consent box ticked, we will share your details with one FCA-regulated mortgage broker whose specialism we believe matches your scenario. The broker is independent: they are responsible for the advice they give and for compliance with their own FCA obligations. First Rung Now does not receive commission tiers that incentivise pushing any particular lender or product. ## 6\. Your obligations By using the Site, you agree that you will: - be at least 18 years old and a UK resident; - provide accurate, current and complete information in our forms; - not use the Site for any unlawful, fraudulent or abusive purpose; - not attempt to interfere with, scrape at scale, reverse-engineer or disrupt the Site. ## 7\. Intellectual property All content on the Site — including text, calculators, layouts, graphics, the First Rung Now name and logo — is owned by us or our licensors and protected by UK and international copyright and trade mark laws. You may view and print content for personal, non-commercial use. You may not republish, resell, scrape or commercially exploit any part of the Site without our prior written permission. ## 8\. Third-party links The Site may link to external resources such as the FCA Financial Services Register, HMRC, or partner brokers. We do not control and are not responsible for the content or practices of those third parties. ## 9\. Disclaimers The Site is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we exclude all implied warranties of accuracy, fitness for purpose and non-infringement in respect of the Site, the calculators and any introduction. We do not warrant uninterrupted availability of the Site. ## 10\. Limitation of liability Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or any other liability that cannot be limited or excluded by UK law. Subject to that: - we accept no liability for any decision you make, or any loss you suffer, in reliance on the Site's educational content or calculator outputs; - we accept no liability for the acts, advice or omissions of any broker or lender to which we introduce you — they are independent regulated firms; - we are not liable for indirect, consequential or special losses, or for loss of profit, revenue, opportunity, data or goodwill. ## 11\. Indemnity You agree to indemnify us against any claims, losses or expenses arising from your breach of these Terms or your misuse of the Site. ## 12\. Privacy Your use of the Site is also governed by our [Privacy Policy](/privacy-policy), which explains how we handle personal data under UK GDPR. ## 13\. Complaints If you have a complaint about the Site or about an introduction we made, please email [hello@firstrungnow.com](mailto:hello@firstrungnow.com). Complaints about regulated mortgage advice should be directed in the first instance to the broker that advised you, and ultimately to the Financial Ombudsman Service. ## 14\. Changes to these Terms We may update these Terms from time to time. The "Last updated" date will reflect the most recent change. Continued use of the Site after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms. ## 15\. Governing law & jurisdiction These Terms and any dispute arising out of them are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction.
